Driving home from Ocean City, my friend commented on how much she liked the red buds growing on the maple trees this time of year, and how it gave the woods a dark red tint. Later on we passed by "Maiden Forest Rd." for years i had always wanted to drive down there, thinking there might be a "Maiden Forest" for which the road was named, and found out Jesse felt the same. Though, by the time we had realized our similar sentiments, we had passed the turnoff. So sad, though a cool idea for a painting was starting to bear fruit in the back of my mind. When i got home i made this. It's very sherri dupree inspired, and i like how dark it turned out. The girl is a simplified, stylized version of Jesse.
